Final Thoughts from Kyler

Jesus has done a lot in my life these past 2 weeks. He has shown me that even when other things pop up you have fun following Jesus. Even though I didn't get to play on the all star team, I got to go to Poland! Jesus has also provided me with a caring team. In my free time on the trip I have been reading through Luke where it tells about Jesus going to town to town to preach the word of God and heal the people who couldn't see or where sick. These verses are what we wanted to do in Ustka. I've seen how God has changed 12 lives on this trip.

Luke 12:35-36
Be dressed and ready to serve. Keep you lamps burning. Be like servants waiting for their master to come home from an important dinner.

Coming Home

As we all come back to see our families and friends, I'm reminded of Moses when he went up the mountain to get the 10 commandments. He was changed because he saw God. All of us can say that we saw God's face and His hands moving in Poland. We are all changed because of this. We remember experiencing God in a very personal way, whether through worship together, sunsets on the Baltic Sea, or life transformation all around us.

My prayer is that we continue to see God at home. He is present and moving here too. It's just that sometimes we have to look for Him more when we are in our own comfort zones. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. May God's blessing continue to be poured out on your life as well!

This trip I got to tell my testimony. I loved it. The people could understand where I was coming from. It was a great feeling. I don’t know if you can understand or maybe you do. God showed me a purpose for me, for all the things that have happened in the last past two years. I’m sure that you’ve heard about me and Joe. At first I thought that it was just a death. A death that was a normal accident, but it wasn’t. The time spent pondering these thoughts were useless. All we need is God. This trip has really been life changing. I so hope to come back next year. (my favorite verse, Romans 12:1)

So, I want to say that it was every night these past two weeks that I saw the sun set, but I probably missed a couple nights. It was on my way back to my cabin that I stopped for a little break; a few of the days I wanted to just keep walking, but someone else called me over. Each time continued to amaze me. I am very thankful for those times that I stopped to walk on the beach to look at that amazing array of colors contrasting with the Baltic Sea. This reminded me of God’s presence in our world - His ways are clear for all to see. God is here and He brings light even in the dark times.

Final Thoughts from Katie Meredith

This trip has been incredible so far. I have loved getting to know all the Polish kids. They are awesome. This week God has taught me so much. He has taught me the importance of sincerity, and honesty in everything I say-to speak more than nice words, but words from my heart. God has also been showing me the importance of keep promises and not making them lightly. Another thing god has showed me this week is that I was able to be a part of something so much greater than me. God has been teaching me to be humble, and to give the glory to God alone. He has also taught me to be honest with myself and my own struggles. God has been teaching me to live, to take chances for Him. Lastly, something huge God has been showing me is that getting to spend time with people, listening to them, and loving them is one of the greatest ways to show them God. It doesn’t have to be a fancy operation. As we go, live God.

I felt that God had given me the strength to put aside my own hurts and feelings and concentrate on the relationships that I was building with the polish kids. In my own life I have many things going on, and many issues that I am attempting to work out in my own mind, but it was not by my own willpower that I was able to put aside those feelings and thoughts for the betterment of the group. So that I could put my attention to the people we were with.

Over the past two weeks, I have learned more about God’s faithfulness. Before we left, I, along with many other people, prayed for God to bless our trip to Poland. God answered my prayers and proved he is faithful by revealing himself to me in many different ways. As a leader, I feel like I was able to sit back a bit, and watch God work. Before the camp began, I felt him guiding our planes and trains safely to their destinations. I saw him in the actions of our team members caring for each other and watching out for one another. In Ustka, I felt him in the sunshine, strong winds and even stronger waves. I saw him in the beautiful sunsets over the sea. I saw him again in our students as they worked to reach the hearts of the Poles. I saw him working on the hearts of the girls in my cabin. It was just so clear that God planned our trip to Poland. God promises that we will find him when we seek him with all of our hearts, and he was faithful by honoring this promise. When I prayed about the trip before I left, I didn’t realize that I was praying for God to show himself to me. But he did, and it was so good.

The past two weeks have made one thing even more evident in my life—God is amazing. Somehow, He works everything out to his advantage. There was one day in the past week that we weren’t as prepared as we would have liked to be, that day was Olympic day. When Olympic day came, everything ran perfectly. Those of us who were in charge were awestruck by the massive power that God has because we knew that there was absolutely NO WAY we could have done that by ourselves. God can surprise us in any given situation.

Another surprise God threw at me was a girl in my cabin named Nina. When I first met her, she was shy and didn’t really talk to me that much. So I constantly was talking to her. By the time that the camp was finished we had reached the point where she would come and find me to talk to me. I was in awe of how this shy girl changed the way she acted around me in a short period of time. I believe that God prepared this friendship and I will value it for the rest of my life. God’s love and grace is present at all times and he can do miraculous things through completely ordinary people.

These past two weeks have been an amazing experience for me and as well as the team. One night when we were worshiping, I felt something that is unexplainable to tell in words.

During this trip, God has worked in my life significantly. He showed his presence in the extreme as we ministered to the Polish students. My bond of faith in God has been greatly deepened. Also, God threw me into a culture that I knew little of, with people that I would’ve shunned, had we met in the states. Throughout the week, I became far more accepting of different people with different cultures, and have become more accepting overall.

Our Last full Day of Camp

Today is our final full day of camp here in Ustka. What a week it has been...we started off as strangers and now we have some very close friends who happen to speak polish. God has done a work in our lives, thier lives and the lives of those from the church.
Two nights ago, about 10 kids gave their live to Christ. It has been amazing to hear the stories and continue to listen to their searching for the truth. Please pray for us today to finish well with our new friends...pray for strength...for continue conversations about a relationship with Jesus. We will give a more complet update when we get to Krakow. Please also pray for safety as we travel to Krakow tommorrow by train. Thanks so much for the support and prayer....enjoy the new pictures.
